Which are the best government institutes for a course in aviation?

Now that's a question asked about the industry and there is no mention of the job profile. Such questions require discussion as they look to elaborate an Industry and not just a profile. I'll give you a brief about the main job portfolios that are hosted by the aviation industry: FOR PILOT TRAINING: 1. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udan Academy (IGRUA) - Rae Bareli, is the only government-owned institute for pilot training. There are state flying clubs which run in collaboration with state governments : 2. Madhya Pradesh Flying Club - Indore & Bhopal 3. Nagpur Flying Club, etc. and CAE Gondia is another premier institute which works in collaboration with some private airlines to train candidates to obtain a CPL. For AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) Course: 1. Indian Institute Of Aeronautics (IIA) 2. Indian Aviation Academy FOR FLIGHT DISPATCHERS COURSE: 1. CTE Hyderabad - Run by Air India FOR AIR HOSTESS TRAINING: There are no government-owned colleges. However, n number of private academies are operational in the market. As questions on other aviation fields have already been answered, I will answer about the aviation course required to become a commercial pilot. India has a flying school running under the ministry of Civil Aviation, The Indira Gandhi Rahtriya Uran Academy, also known as IGRUA, located at Fursatganj District Amethii Uttar Pradesh. It has grown to become one of the best flying schools in the country with a large well-maintained fleet of aircrafts and state of the art simulators. They are also known to hire among the best flight instructors of the country. Apart from Indian students, they also have students from neighboring countries and that makes the academy at par with international institutes. They also have a huge hostel to house the students and on an average, 60-70 students graduate as a pilot from the institute every year. They also have on job courses for AMEs and they also have partnered with various state governments for carrying out training of students with scholarships. Being a government run body, students of the institute also have the added benefit of undergoing in house placement examinations with Air India.

Dear, According to me, the best government institution in India for aviation is 'India Institute of Aeronautics'. None can beat its market demand in the world of aviation. It is one of the oldest and reputed institutes in India. The reason why they are unmatchable from others is their placement cell. They have a dedicated placement cell comprised of currently serving and retired Senior Engineers with leading airlines. This is why 50% of the technical workforce in the industry has passed out from that college. You need to be much more precious while selecting the college for aviation especially when it comes to aircraft maintenance engineering course. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is a very special person with highly specialised skills and knowledge. He is the backbone of the aviation industry. His job is to carry out maintenance and repair of the aircraft and certify it. No aircraft can be flown without CRS (Certificate Released for Service) by an AME. It is a job profile with high dignity and a great sense of responsibility. So IIA is the best. Hope this helps. Good luck.
