I think I am the right person to answer this question. I graduated from the University in 2016. (Yes I was a part of the first batch of the University). I was scared throughout my degree at CU until the actual placements started. I am replying to this question since I always felt it would be good to know if my efforts will ever lead me to the correct destination in the University, but couldn't find any answers because we were the first batch. (before that it was CGC Gharuan under PTU). To be honest, I wasn't like the best at academics but was able to score 8+ CGPA through hardwork (We also need to focus on other aspects apart from acad

I was scared throughout my degree at CU until the actual placements started. I am replying to this question since I always felt it would be good to know if my efforts will ever lead me to the correct destination in the University, but couldn't find any answers because we were the first batch. (before that it was CGC Gharuan under PTU). To be honest, I wasn't like the best at academics but was able to score 8+ CGPA through hardwork (We also need to focus on other aspects apart from academics, work on some good projects, your communication skills and of course Aptitude, etc. ). Now the part which you guys are waiting for, I was hired on 26th August -2015 by Deloitte (Big 4) at a very decent package. It was the Second company that visited the University. I was filled with joy and happiness! It didn't stop there, I also got offers from Cognizant, Wipro, Byju's and NCR Corporation (where I did my internship from during my 8th sem) and finally landed in Deloitte USI. I heard that the current scenario is that they have around 2k students in CSE itself while it was around 300 during my time. So, the competition has also increased but since the number of Companies visiting the University is also growing around the same pace, a hard-working student shouldn't worry much. Overall, I think it's safe to say that if you work hard enough and are passionate about your field, you will be provided with ample opportunities to appear after great MNCs for interviews. Also, it would be inappropriate of me to end this post without mentioning the one person who taught us Quantitative Aptitude, Mr Pradeep Bansal'. He joined as a Head of Career and Placements department and taught us Quantitative Aptitude himself in 2015 and I believe he is now the Deputy Director of Training and Placement cell of the University. He was my mentor for all my placement related doubts and he even helped me and my friends get a personal meeting room for our GD practice on an ad hoc request along with a soft skills trainer to help us. As far as I know, they have a very strong training and placement programme now where they take care of all such things from your initial semesters itself. Ahh! This was a long post indeed. I think in North india thapar university is more better than LPU. thapar's ranking is also high. but its little expensive.
