Which are the best sources, books and other content to prepare for civil services exam both for the preliminary and main exam?

I'm looking forward appearing for UPSC civil services exam. As a beginner, I would like to know about the best sources which will be helpful in the preparation.

Since their syllabus is heavily equipped with GK, Indian and world history, public policy, public administration, Indian and world politics, it'll be easier for you to strengthen your base.

No, the Commission do not mention any Minimum Qualifying Marks for the General Studies Paper 1. But there is a criteria of Minimum 33 % for the General Studies Paper 2 (Aptitude) paper.
