Fashionstake has emerged as an online boutique for emerging designers. Users vote on designs and those with the most up-votes are sold in their online boutique as 'Crowd Favorites.'
    See http://mashable.com/2011/03/04/fashionstake-2/#dyY7rPOnDkqE for more information.
Fabricly.com is also a platform for emerging designers. The company allows designers to submit designs, but takes care of the logistics - production, fulfillment, etc. - on their behalf and curates their collections online.
    See https://techcrunch.com/2010/11/18/yc-funded-fabricly-is-a-threadless-for-high-fashion-and-it-just-raised-400k/ for more information.

Yes, being in the fashion industry (digital marketing) and now, fashion design industry, I now know one incredible platform for emerging designers.
It's called Utelier. What it essentially does is-connect designers, manufacturers, buyers, and specialists (lawyers, illustrators, pattern-cutters, etc.) with each other.
The best part about the Utelier is that, it is free at the moment and always free for students. Now, the tools it provides it are super easy to use. You just have to sign-up as one of the above and create your profile.
Your profile would have the following:
    Company history
    - Product specialisation
    - Client history
    - MOQ/ minimum
    ...more
