Current Entrance exam for B.Tech admission is JEE Mains, if you clear the cut-off of JEE Mains then you can go for JEE Advanced. On the basis of JEE Mains rank, you can get colleges till NITs but can't get IITs. But except IITs, there are too many colleges which are welcoming you for B.Tech admissions.

The most popular one is JEE Mains, upon cracking this, you can write JEE Advanced which is required to get into prestigious universities and colleges such as IITs and NITs.

In India, JEE Mains and Advanced pave the way to enter top colleges. You can also write entrance exams of BITSAT VIT, SRM University, etc. In order to get into the top colleges in your state, you may apply for the state level engineering entrance tests.
