    Hi buddy,
Its very good that you are very clear about your career aim. Mechanical Engineering is one of the primitive branches of Engineering have wide application in other engineering fields, and therefore, have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. So, you've made great selection by choosing this engineering specialization. Now coming on your question, I suggest UTM Shillong, which is pretty good university of North India. You can check out this university, it has good infrastructure, faculty and placements. Moreover, Shillong is such a serene place to live in and study.
