    Apart from the static topics like history, geography and polity, UPSC now focuses on the present issues. So, to begin, be updated with the recent issues. For example, Bangladesh PM was in India to discuss Teesta water sharing and there was a question on Teesta river in UPSC prelims 2017. So, in a way, you can predict some of the questions. Present government schemes are very important. As for geography, focus on maps and Indian flora and fauna distribution. Modern history is another important area, especially the Indian national movement. Apart from this, go through previous year question papers to see the pattern and study accordingly
