The SCERT in Assam is responsible for conducting D. El. Ed. Courses to groom prospective teachers. The following are NCTE-recognised teacher education institutions in Lakhimpur, Assam:
    1. District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Lakhimpur (Azad): The intake for the D. El. Ed. Course is 100.
    2. Dhakuakhana Normal School: The intake capacity for the D. El. Ed. Course is 50.
    3. Basic Training Center, Azad: Its intake is also 50 students per batch. To gain admission to these government-recognised institutions, you must take the SCERT Pre-Entry Test.
