IRMA doesn't have any specific course or area from which it draws questions for ISC. So, preparing for ISC, as past trends have shown, you may look at recently announced policies, schemes, allocations to schemes, current issues between states, and recent happenings in the India. Very few questions are asked about past data, though, questions related to rural development projects can be seen.

To get admission in IRMA, a candidate must appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) or Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT/ XAT scores. The shortlisted candidates need to appear for IRMA test. The candidates who meet the cut-off criteria of IRMA exam are called for GA/PI. On the basis of the overall performance of the candidates, IRMA releases the final selection list.
There will be 40 questions in the admissions test.
In 2016, 28 questions were group questions I.e. passage based and 12 were standalone.
Questions were asked on current affairs mostly on the government schemes (yojanas).
