Which are the most important topics to focus for MAT preparation?

The syllabus of MAT comprises topics or chapters from each section that aspirants should study to ace the exam. Analysing the previous year's question papers experts have suggested topics from Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, General Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian & Global Environment that are important for the entrance exam. The focus of the test is on the basic concept of mathematics. The topics include Arithmetic, Geometry and Mensuration, and miscellaneous topics such as Time, Speed & Distance, Simple/Compound Interest, Series, Mixture and Set theory. it is important to develop vocabulary by reading thought-provoking books, magazines, and editorials in newspapers. Update your grammar by reading books which enhance English language skills. General awareness of the students is an important requirement for management education. Basic knowledge of Science, Geography, History, Economics, Current Affairs, Politics, etc. would be useful as well.

In MAT there are different sections- Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Verbal and Reading Comprehension. Each section of the test has few important topics which you must cover. Maths: Students from non-engineering backgrounds are not too comfortable in QA. If you are not an engineering student then you must focus in this section to improve your score, which will impact overall MAT percentile. The most important topics being - Logarithm, Algebra, Geometry, Permutation and Combination and Probability. LR/DI: Again a section where high-scoring can be done as this is comparatively easier than the others. You should focus on Data Sufficiency, Bar Graph, Tables, Case-lets and Pi-charts. Verbal and Reading Comprehension: You need to be proficient in words to crack this section. Learn 5-10 words every day. Focus on fill in the blanks, grammar, para completion, para jumble, word usage and verbal reasoning.
