Very difficult to judge any institute or college on any basis because you haven't read from that particular place. Talking about the famous names, the list can be variable with the choice of your course. For Bachelor's you can find the names of Symbiosis, DCAC- Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, NIMC- National Institute of Mass Communication, Indraprastha University, Amity University, etc. And then there are few women orientated college such as Sophia Mumbai, Indraprastha college, Lady Shri Ram, etc. Those who are the pioneers in providing the best of practical training. Then comes post-graduation then the list is really huge and you can't really differentiate in between them as they are all unique in different ways, some of the leaders are St. Xavier's Mumbai, Hinduja College, Jamia Millia Islamia, Banaras Hindu University, Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), IIMC, and many more you can always find the best at Shiksha. Below mentioned is the list of the top 5 colleges in India for mass communication aspirants: 1. Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC)-Delhi 2. Xavier's Institute of Communication (XIC) 3. Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) 4. Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC) 5. AJ Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre (AJKMCRC) All the above-mentioned colleges are the top colleges in terms of their academic as well as placement records. But, if you ask me the best among these top 5 colleges, I would recommend Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi on the basis of their excellent placement process. Here are some good things about the IIMC placements: Every year you'll see some great reputed companies coming for placements including HT, ET, TOI, TIL, India Today, etc., but that does not include IE and The Hindu. I'm not really sure, but I guess BBC and Discovery have been on the list too. To ensure that maximum students get placed, there is a rule that a student who gets placed with a company will not be allowed to give the interview for another company. (This can be negative too depending upon your situation). Best of luck.
