Nowadays, this field is more popular, as Big companies like Wipro, Infosys, IBM, CISCO, Google, and Microsoft are in immense demand for great IT worker. From my view, opt B.Tech CSE, and pursue any other course like ASP.NET, ANDROID.
These are short term courses, which will help you to get easy placements in bigger company with higher package. -

You have mentioned the rank but missed to mention the entrance examination which you are referring to. Kindly mention the same so that I can provide better guidance. As far as the choice of branch is concerned, the choice of the engineering branch depends on your interest. In your case, automobile engineering would be the best choice.
