In India, for the preferred order, don't go by NIRF ranking as there are no of clauses and one can only understand it after great analysis.
-IIT Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras
-IIT Roorkee, BHU, Guwahati, Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, BITS Pilani, IIIT-H.
-IIT Indore, IIT Gandhinagar, NIT- Surathkal, MNIT, VNIT, Anna University, DTU, NSIT, IIIT-Allahabad, IIIT-Delhi
-Other NITs, IIITs preferred according to their course of study and their rankings, BITS-Hyderabad, BITS-Goa, Jadavpur University, DAICT, PEC-Chandigarh.
-BIT-Mesra, VJTI-Mumbai, VIT, LNMIT, Nirma, HBTI, Thapar, RV College.
    -MIT-Pune, COEP, Manipal.
