GCET Bikaner, IIT Jodhpur, MNIT Jodhpur, MBM Engineering college, Rajasthan Technical Universty-Kota are some well-known government colleges with decent placements, however, private colleges have certain distinction over placements and support in international offers. BITS-Pilani is best private colleges overall government colleges in Rajasthan. Only IIT Jodhpur can be preferred and equivalent with BITs Pilani. Placements for the Computer Science batch have always been great with the average salary package staying above 10 LPA and almost 95% of the batch placed. In the case of mechanical and electrical, the percentage of students placed stays at about 80% with average around 6 LPA. The highest salary offers has been with CSE with students being placed as high as 60 LPA with International job opportunities by IT giants and many startups in India for business intelligence roles. Hello, Rajasthan has lots of colleges. Yes, Govt engineering colleges. Almost every district headquarters has one! Students is actually spoiled for choices. And this is not counting IIT/ NIT /IIIT. Rajasthan is actually hub of huge educational activities. Kota has become famous throughout India for churning out successful candidates for admissions in IIT's and NIT's. This throws up a large number of candidates who miss getting into IIT and then try to get into colleges of Rajasthan. The list of govt. colleges with their full name will run into many pages besides it is available easily on internet and hence I have decided not fill up my write up with this mundane data. Jodhpur is considered as mecca of education in Rajasthan. A student can think of getting admission in Govt Eng College here. Next in hierarchy could be Ajmer and then Jaipur. Mind you, this is my assessment based on different sources of information. Of course, this does not preclude a student from getting into govt. college if it is available in his / her hometown. It’s always better in long term. In addition, what will happen after four years is anybody's guess. Ranking can go topsy turvy after four years!To conclude, I will say that other than IIT/NIT/IIIT there are very well known govt. engineering colleges in Rajasthan and my order of preference would be the ones at Jodhpur, Ajmer and Jaipur.

Some of the best engineering colleges according to my viewpoints are as follows: 1. Indian Institute of Technology- Jodhpur 2. Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur 3.Rajasthan Technical University, Kota You may prefer for IIT-Jodhpur but any of the above colleges are better than the private colleges.
