    Dear Simran, Both the programs have enough scope, the only points of consideration are your interests, aptitude and passion for the subjects !
    You must choose the programme with careful deliberations on your aptitude and passion. Both these fields require passion to succeed in addition to great curriculum and right practical exposure on the part of curator.     Both have equal importance. But, if we talk about career opportunities, then it totally depends upon your interest because biotech is a kind of field where you can utilize your research skills. And in food tech, you have some decent job opportunities. So, I think you should first analyze yourself, try to figure out your own skills and potential and you will find your answer, coz no field is poor, unless we don't have interest in it.

    B.Tech in Food Technology is an enterprising course though a lot depends on your interest. It is 4-year course which requires pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST^ (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants)

    Biotechnology and Food Technology are two different streams. At its core, Food technology is a subset of Biotechnology. Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary stream that has subsets within, one of them being Food Technology apart from Industrial Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Agricultural/Plant Biotechnology, Animal/Mammalian Biotechnology.
