Which B.Tech branch shall I choose between mechanical and EIE? What are the prospects after the same?

Electronics and Electrical Engineering are very good and highly job oriented courses. No doubts and questions about that fact. But when it comes to faculty and practical experiments, most of the colleges do not have sufficient infrastructure.
There are many publications that come up with rankings of engineering colleges and other colleges, rating a few colleges as best ranked colleges. However, many a times not all colleges take part and the ranking are based on high level of objectivity and loose subjectivity?
