Which board textbooks should I prefer for JEE Mains 2017?

For chemistry, NCERT is the best for IIT JEE but for maths and physics NCERT is not sufficient. I will suggest the Cengage book because it contains nearly 300 questions of every chapters and practice better.

Prefer the following:
Physics: NCERT + HC Verma + DC Pandey
Chemistry: NCERT + OP Tendon
Mathematics: NCERT + SK Goyal and Amit M Agarwal -
If your only mission is to crack JEE Main, then NCERT work best.
At least in chemistry, you have to mug up all the contents of NCERT, then you can score minimum 80 marks in chemistry.
For physics, just consider the book's concept of physics.
And for math, you may have to take a good book, but avoid IRODOV or any other high level book, you might get demotivated
If you consider all my points, you might can get 200+ easily.
All the best. -
NCERT is best for chemistry but you should try some other competitive books like O. P. Tondon. For physics you should practice H. C. Verma. For maths you should refer S. L. Loney for Trigonometry and Coordinate geometry, but for calculus and algebra you should choose Hall & Knight.
Best of luck. -

8 years agoDon't roam here and there for books take minimum books for preparations and practice a lot from that. How many times you completed that particular book matters not how many books you used for preparations.
I suggest some books for your JEE preparations in a hope that you may understand my meanings.
For chemistry, NCERT books are enough but to practice JEE level questions you have to purchase only one book that is MS Chouhan Organic and Inorganic.
For Physics and Mathematics, along with NCERT books, you have to purchase TMH JEE Mains Volume for both the subjects.
If you did this then I challenge you. You will be thanking me because from how...more -

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65 marks out of 198 in CAT 2025, depending on difficulty and normalization process. Final selection is also based on interview, academics, and work experience. Yes, you are fairly within touch, but I would encourage you to have a solid overall profile as well to increase your chances of admission.

It talks about the atom. According to the Greek philosophers earlier, the atoms were the smallest part of matter that cannot be further divisible. Later, Dalton's atomic theory suggested that atom is the ultimate particle of matter. This theory was challenged later on by experiments done towards the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. These experiments found that atoms are made up of electrons, protons and neutrons.
