The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU)—a collective of the 26 NLUs—sets and publishes the CLAT cutoff (opening & closing ranks) after each round of counselling, based on exam difficulty, number of applicants, and available seats .

The CLAT cut-off for the year 2025 is decided by National Law Universities (NLUs), it is conducted the CLAT examination. At the conclusion of each round of counselling for admission into participating NLUs, the closing ranks according to category and NLU based on merit and availability of seats.
