Which book should I refer for better preparation in mechanical branch?
Now, I am completing my 12th and I want to give GATE exam.

GATE is the entrance exam for admission to PG courses in engineering. As you are studying in 12th, you need to become an engineer first and then give GATE. But, of course having dream is always good. There are another four years at least and what type of exam it would be, no one knows. So, relax. Complete your BE / B.Tech and when you get in final year start surfing for the same.
