Mechanical engineering in Thapar University is better than electrical. The placements, faculty are world class. Infrastructure and labs are also well-equipped. So, go for mechanical at Thapar University.

Electrical engineering is better than mechanical engineering because it has high scope now when compared to mechanical engineering.

In case of mechanical or electrical engineering, you can go with any of the branches. All the branches are amazing and provides equal opportunities to its students. The infrastructure and campus of all the branches is world class and well equipped. The labs are well maintained. The faculty is amazing and are always keen to generate new ideas of teaching in the classroom for better understanding of its students. The best part is that the students are welcomed from every part of the country. So they get a fair chance to learn and experience more.

All the branches are good at Thapar Institute. You can choose either of them as per your interest, but personally, my favorite is electrical engineering at Thapar Institute. You get the most exposure and practical learning here and faculty members are very supportive. One of my friends recently passed out from Thapar Institute with the same stream and was placed at such a high salary package. Your interest and hard work matter a lot. Do your best and Thapar will bring success for you. All the best.

So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sai...more

I'll prefer you to opt for the electrical engineering, as the scope of this field in India is good, and you can easily get a decent pack job easily, but this can't be possible in the mechanical branch as there are very less jobs in India. Also, Thapar University has good placement in the electrical engineering not in the mechanical engineering.
