Which branch is better in Thapar University between mechanical and CSE?

    CSE might be down after few decades, but mechanical isn't. You should choose mechanical if you are a hardcore type. As a matter of fact CSE has high demand compared to mechanical right now. Just go with your heart and mind.

    Computer science has a good market demand due to the technological advancements in the field compared to mechanical engineering and similarly the opportunities for CSE engineers are better in the form of placements. But this only rewards if you develop a good interest in coding otherwise CSE is not worth.
    Whereas, mechanical has a consistent placement record with decent packages. Job profile in one is generally a desk job whereas other requires fieldwork.
    Both the branches in Thapar are almost comparable.
