Both of these branches are entirely different. Mechanical engineers have lot of opportunities in automobile engineering, rocketry, mechatronics, army, etc. Civil engineers are having more demands in construction, planning and development of our country itself. One thing is, only go for any engineering branch, if you have enough passion towards it. Otherwise, it won't work. So, don't think which is better. Both of them are the core engineering courses. Now, it depends on your interest. Engineering is a passion more than grades. If you love your subject, then your subject will take you to the top level. So, you can discuss this with your teachers. Best of luck.
