Mechanical engineers have lot of opportunities in automobile engineering, rocketry, mechatronics, army, etc. Civil engineers are having more demands in construction, planning and development of our country itself. Both of them are the core engineering courses. Now, it depends on your interest. Engineering is a passion more than grades. If you love your subject, then your subject will take you to the top level. So, you can discuss this with your teachers. Best of luck.
