Both of these branches are entirely different. Mechanical engineers have lot of opportunities in automobile engineering, rocketry, mechatronics, army, etc. Civil engineers are having more demands in construction, planning and development of our country itself. One thing is, only go for any engineering branch, if you have enough passion towards it. Otherwise, it won't work. So, don't think which is better.
