Which branch of engineering is having more scope among EEE and civil engineering?

Hello, Civil Engineering and EEE has their own unique features. Earlier students who had a civil engineer or civil engineering related personnel at home took civil engineering courses. But, now the trend is changing. There are several job opportunities which the civil engineering student can pursue. However, the growth and opportunities in this field is directly related to the economic conditions. Usually when there is good cash flow in the market, real estate industry booms. At the same time, any setback in the Industry is only temporary. Electrical and Electronics Engineering has numerous job opportunities both in the private and Public sector companies. A lot of EEE engineers choose a career in IT as it seems lucrative. However developing a strong technical knowledge right from the first year of the college will lead to a fruitful career in this field with pay packages more than those in the IT industry. This also depends upon the college you are going to join and the faculty there and which stream gets better placements and packages. (coz nowadays stream doesn't matter much until and unless you're joining a core company which specifically requires your skill sets and knowledge in a particular domain. And most of us end up in IT industry). You should choose your college or university wisely. Getting an engineering degree done from a well reputed college is what matters. University or college which not just focus on content but also helps you with the placements. Few of the best options for engineering are IIT, NIIT, Lovely Professional University, Thappar, BITS-Pilani, Symbiosis, and few more. So, choose wisely. Good Luck!

Hi Both streams of engineering are equally good. You need to check according to your interest. If you are passionate about filed work then civil engineering is for you otherwise EEE. After checking your interest you need to check the best college which gives you the best academic facilities of good faculty, infrastructure, live projects, seminars, exposure, platform, scholarships, placements etc. LPU provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible student to secure good placements. I believe all branches are good, the word better is just a mere perception of an individual. Your effort and interest in branch makes the it more acceptable #For one person Civil may be good for the other EEE and vice versa. I can tell you the current scenario which may be helpful in developing your perception. India is a developing nation with lots of infrastructure development, population growth and global warming in the years to come, there will always be a need for Structural Engineer, Transportation Engineer, Water Resource Engineer and Environment Engineer. And all these fall under the category of Civil Engineers. EEE stands for Electrical & Electronics Engineering. This branch of Engineering has recently gained momentum due to the industrial demands of having an individual with skill set of both an Electrical as well as an Electronics Engineer. But to clarify Electrical Engineering is the mother of all these branches (ECE, EEE, CS IT). This branch may make you work in State Electricity Boards, make you a professor with suitable specialisation, make you do research and sell new technologies (thanks to booming renewable energy sector in the years to come) or make you shift to an IT field job if you loose interest during the course of four years easily. The next point is you should identify an institute of repute which instills learning and exposure in you so that you can outshine. You can target IIT, NIT, Thapar and LPU. MBA- One can always pursue MBA in Energy Management after a degree in EEE while other can opt for CPM after a degree in Civil Engineering.
