Which branch of engineering should I pursue? Which branch has better job prospects?

Hi isha, You really need to answer yourself one thing that whether you will choose your stream according to your interest and aptitude or on the basis of job placement you will decide your stream no matter you have interest in it or not. I agree job aspect is an important while choosing your prospective career. But you should check your interest area, aptitude also. Well, all of the branches have a great scope, provided you have interest, aptitude, frame of mind, temperament, passion, personality traits that align with your aspirations in any of these. That is the reason why all the branches are being taught in such a large number of colleges in the first place. You must give it a deep though yourself for making a decision. Every field has ample number of jobs and opportunities for making a successful career out of it! It is very important to choose an Institution to pursue your higher education. Better you can refer the recent NIRF rankings released by Ministry of Education. Otherwise you can do comparison in SNU, LPU, BITs, VIT, SRM, Amity, Manipal University etc. All the best.

Dear Isha, As the world is shrinking and is becoming more and more digital, the scope for Computer Science is on a rise. You must have heard people from other specializations (Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, etc. ). Working in the Computer Science area. I suggest you to go for CSE. My younger brother has already completed B.Tech CSE from Lovely Professional University and currently he is working with amazon. His experience at LPU was amazing. He has discussed placements, exposure, academics etc. LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department has been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Honestly speaking, the quality of education provided at any of the universities in India has been standardized by the autonomous body called University Grants Commission (UGC). It is just a matter of public opinion that sometimes condemns a university while over-hyping another. Of course, few other factors, such as the university intake of good candidates and the output of taught, trained, and efficient candidates who get successful placements during the course of the past couple of years, matter, of course, but lets get to that a while later. In regards to the stream concentric study of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Lovely Professional University, it is undoubtedly a very good idea. The faculty at the CSE department of LPU is just as qualified as any of the popular universities and institutes of India that offer this discipline names I don't even need to say! It has produced perfectly efficient computer engineers in the past couple of years who have eventually landed salary packages as high as 42 LPA!I am going to say that the students graduating from the CSE branch at LPU get placed more often than any other department from the same university. Not everyone gets placements in a core company, but they will get placed in companies functioning in various other fields. University has tie -ups with Upgrade for few B.Tech specializations. That totally depends on the answers to following questions to yourself: What do you want to do in career? What does the degree you are planning to get enable you to do in career? Answer both of these honestly to yourself, you'll get the answer. All of the branches have a great scope, provided you have interest, aptitude, frame of mind, temperament, passion, personality traits that align with your aspirations in any of these. That is the reason why all the branches are being taught in such a large number of colleges in the first place. You must give it a deep though yourself for making a decision. Every field has ample number of jobs and opportunities for making a successful career out of it! Do not go by peer pressure for the decision, its your interest and passion which matters not the others. Second point : You must pursue your choice of course only in top universities like IITs, NITs, VIT, PEC, Thapar and LPU, etc. This will help you kick start your career with a good platform as they will ensure your initial placement. All are good options but scope wise always computer Science stands ahead. Because the field has a very wide scope and demand. Moreover, in any decent college, you can expect very good college placements for CSE more. Being an CSE student from LPU, I would recommend LPU. B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering is related with algorithms, computation, programming languages, programme design, computer hardware, computer software etc. It is a comprehensive course in computer systems and applications. The students who pursue the course of Computer Science Engineering are taught about design, the implementation as well as management of computer software and hardware. 1 Placements :Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which are placed. The maximum package availed for CSE is 42 lacs. Per annum by Microsoft in 2020. DURING PANDEMIC THE PLACEMENT 20202021 Cloud ERA has offered 31 Lacs Per annum (CSE) DURING 20192020 CODE NATION = 31 LPA.

All the branches of engineering are equally good and have tremendous job opportunities. It entirely depends on how well you understand and handle the stream and increase your scope of growth. Different branches of engineering are popular at different places and the popularity depends upon the day to day requirement of that place. In my opinion these days the major opportunities are there for the students of computer Science/information technology but I would say you should choose stream based on your interest as that will open a wider scope for your future.
