Depending on the college, the package and placement may differ. If you are Interested in a particular subject, choose that. Because you will have to study hard to get good placement. All branches have good placements so it only narrows down to your interests. If you are taking admission in a particular college, try meeting some of the seniors of different branches and ask them about the placement. If you are just looking for a higher paying course then Mechanical and CS both are good.

If you want placement after BE or B.Tech, then you should go with CS, because CS is the branch where you learn everything related to IT companies and generally CS goes for placement. Good luck.
