Well, I don't have idea about BMS and Veltech, I would say, Lovely Professional University is the only private university in India that has attained the NABL accreditation in the field of mechanical testing of building and construction materials. With better theoretical and practical knowledge, students are much more competent than any other university. Actually I did MBA from Lovely Professional University but I have one friend who has done B.Tech Civil Engineering From LPU. He told me B.Tech in civil engineering course involves so much more than theoretical know-how. In addition to classroom lectures, students here learn via hands-on experiences which include site visits, lab sessions and so on. PPTs, animations and similar technological techniques are a regular part of classroom teaching too. The course material provided here enables to practice civil engineering using up-to-date techniques, skills, and tools as a result of life-long learning ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. The course benefits the students by giving them an understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities. The Department aims to provide students with a technical foundation incorporated with the industrial need together with the breadth needed in the profession via advanced study or field training, or as a base for other pursuits. In order to get this develop we have timely workshops, and seminars. Coming to faculty, they are one of the best mentors to us & everything here is up to the mark. College of Engineering, Delhi Technological University, College of Engineering Pune, UPES Dehradun, Lovely Professional University etc. Lovely Professional University is one of the best institutes for engineering in the state of Punjab. Being an alumni of LPU I believe that I can answer your query properly. LPU is one of the finest universities in India. The dept. Of Civil Engineering offers very dynamic study content. It not only focuses on teaching concepts of civil engineering but also lays stress on practical application of the principles and theories. Being more interested in structural engineering I personally found the content of courses like, Design of Structures, Bridge design, Fluid Mechanics designed in such an interesting way that you hardly find any other university working on syllabus enhancement to such an extent as LPU does. The dept. Of civil engineering has all the required labs with up to date machinery and modern equipment. They also have NABL-accredited lab for mechanical testing of building materials which makes LPU the only private university in India and first university in Punjab to receive this accreditation. Their curriculum for civil engineering is revised every year by leading professionals in the field of construction industry and the students represent LPU at various national and international level competitions for civil engineering. Their placements are also at par with the demand in industry. Many construction giants like Linkhouse Buildwell, KEC international, L&T have been vising LPU for placements. They have labs maintained by Bentley which provides training for the latest software which are in demand by the industry.
