Hi, Both of them have their own strengths and systems. SRMCEM is an affiliated college recognized by AICTE. Lovely Professional University is a multi-discipline university recognized by UGC. There is a whole lot of difference between a college and a university. Universities and colleges work differently and at entirely different levels. Universities obviously have far more choices for education, far better equipped than colleges for professional training. Generally, universities have bigger and better infrastructure to be able to deliver the programs in diverse fields. One very important point is the diversity of students and faculty. Large universities of high repute like LPU have massive diversity among students and teachers. This enables insights into different cultures and the student learns the right sensibilities for working in cross-cultural teams. Universities have far more autonomy to decide on their course curriculum in Indian context as colleges are generally affiliated with universities. Coming to infrastructure, as per the rules laid down by UGC for Universities, they have to be far more advanced and better than colleges in providing the infrastructure for the programs they deliver. Also, the recruitment of faculty is as per the norms laid out by the regulatory authority. Coming to the two names mentioned in the question: SRMCEM website says about 200 companies visit for placements while LPU gets about 800+. The highest packages offered in SRMCEM are about 25 lacs, while LPU gets 1 crore plus packages. The basic eligibility for SRMCEM courses is 45% at 10+2 level for all graduation courses (with relevant subjects) while it is either 50% (in various courses) or 60% for B.Tech, Agriculture and Architecture, etc. And this along-with its own entrance examination LPU NEST. Conclusion: There is a huge difference in eligibility, course structure, infrastructure, and placements, both cannot actually be compared as LPU is miles ahead and caters to a different level of students. Though all the institutes are good in terms of academics but being an alumni of LPU let me explain the things in detail. LPU is good in terms of Placements, Infrastructure, and faculty members. I am not quite aware of SRMCEM Lucknow but as per my advice, one must go for Computer Science and Engineering as it has been one of the most lucrative and competitive course to study since its inception in Indian engineering colleges.
