Which college is better for B.Tech CS: Thapar or SRM, Chennai?

With no doubt Thapar University. I am astonished to see this question popped up in your mind. Thapar itself is a brand name and its CS department is one of the best in its your own way. The ranking that is given by NIRF only goes to prove that Thapar is one of the best universities after the IITs and some of the NITs. The placement of both the college varies too much. While in Thapar 12 students got placed in Hikari at 23 LPA+, Microsoft paid 16-18 LPA whereas in SRM it is tough even to get a 6+LPA. Hope this helps you. Be free to share any problem you have.

Yes, Thapar is best place for study. Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology (deemed to be University) is one of the best and most prestigious Engineering institute in India. Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology ranked 23 in India by NIRF Government of India rankings. Thapar is the 2 best private Engineering institute in India after BITS pilani. Placement at Thapar are awesome. Almost every student gets placements who were admitted to Thapar. Average package at Thapar is around 6.5 Lacs. The highest package is 40 Lacs.
