    Hello!
I would say, look for other option as well. Biotech is a upcoming field, though not fully matured in India yet, but for fresh aspirant, they will enter this industry when it will be at its high growth rate. LPU is the best bet for training in this field. Focus is on correlation of concepts with the scientific happenings for deep rooted concept building to harness the research potential in the upcoming streams of Biotechnology. The programme is designed for specific outcomes like:
1 : Apply knowledge of basic sciences, fundamentals of biology through genetic engineering
2 : Design and develop value added products using knowledge of

Despite the fact that you get to rock in your very own department building, with the biotechnology department having the highest number of faculty members, academic or non academic, I must tell you the placements for biotechnology at SRM are'nt satisfactory.
Very few core companies visit the campus, selecting even fewer students, making the majority to end up in marketing or it companies.
The placements record of Vit seems to be better but not enough to gaurantee you a core job in the field.
Cheers! If these are the last options on your list, select the better of the developing universities. VIT!

B.Tech in Biotechnology: VIT University is better because The School offers two undergraduate (B.Tech.) and six Postgraduate (M.Sc. & M. Tech.) programmes. It also offers M.S. and Ph.D. programmes in research. The syllabus of each of the above programmes covers the latest developments in the respective streams and designed based on market needs so that employability can be improved. The other major priorities include developing entrepreneurship skills and grooming students to become future scientists for the improvement of mankind. Definitely one should go for SRM University for biotechnology.
Though both the universities have old establishment SRM University has invested huge and effortlessly to get to the top.
Also, the same is reflected in the rankings conducted by NIRF and IPSOS which was powered by Zee news.
Apart from the academics, SRM has very vibrant and modern lifestyle accompanied with a very happening and creative pool of talented minds.
Now, it is true fact that the biotechnology has still not found much scope in the corporate world still is widely opted in India for its large scope in research and application in abroad.
