Which college is better for B.Tech in CSE among IET and HBTI?

Choosing a university is a big decision and a very difficult task, as our career depends upon that. Both the universities are doing equally good but I would rather choose LPU, not these. There are several reasons for the same. To commence with the curriculum, all the subjects you are going to study, their syllabus is designed keeping in mind the industry demands and the syllabus is vetted by company officials. Different specializations are offered to students depending upon the stream they want to opt for. For example- In CSE, they offer cybersecurity, IoT, data Science, machine learning, and many more. Moreover, they give you the option for pathway elective that whether you want to be in the corporate sector, higher studies, Government Job, or entrepreneur. In addition to it, the classes you have to attend regularly. They did not compromise with the academics of the students. If any faculty is on leave, the classes are either adjusted or makeup lectures are planned. The University also provides the option of credit transfer and international exposure to its students. If I talk about the placements, the preparation for placements starts from the very first year. Many top recruiters visit the LPU campus to employ graduates, such as Amazon, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Capgemini, Bosch, TCS, and several other firms. Recently, a girl got placed at a package of 42 LPA. Moreover, Amazon recruited LPU students with 30 LPA. More than 700 companies visit LPU every year for recruitment with an average package of 6-10 LPA. Every year visiting companies escalate in number and till date University has recorded the highest placements in North India. So, you should choose LPU for pursuing B.Tech (CSE). Thanks.

Hi, I would have chosen CSE in HBTI, Chennai over LPU because HBTI is one of the reputed universities in India with good number of companies visiting for recruitment.

Institute of Engineering Technology and Harcourt Butler Technical University are both located in Lucknow as they are both affiliated to the same college that is A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, Lucknow. There course or syllabus and curriculum are almost same. According to me, Harcourt Butler Technical University is a better college that Institute of Engineering Technology because of better infrastructure, faculty with more experience and knowledge and facilities provided by them are much better than Institute of Engineering Technology. There is also a much difference between the placements provided by both of these colleges as placement provided by Harcourt Butler Technical university is better than Institute of Engineering Technology. In HBTI the major recruiters are: Accenture, Adobe, Amazon, Aricent, Asian Paints, Atos, Bajaj Auto, Capital Via, Dabur, DCM Technologies, Hero Moto Corp, Hindustan Unilever, Honda Two Wheelers, IBM, Idea Cellular Services, Infosys, ITC, Jubilant, Maruti Suzuki, Microsoft, Nestle, TVS Group, Volkswagen and Yatra. The average salary provided by the companies is about Rs 5 to Rs 6 lakh per annum and the highest salary provided by the companies is about Rs 11 to Rs 12 lakh per annum. About 80% of students get placed in the placement. In IET about 60% of the students get placed in the with an average salary of about Rs 4 to Rs 5 lakh per annum. Most of the students are recruited by mass recruiter companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. Hope it helps.

First of all, I should tell you that AKTU colleges are not the ones you can expect much from and displacement is the only reason you are willing to do B.Tech from these colleges. You will be a great amount of disappointment at the end of 4 years as both the colleges do not provide good placements. However, do not create a bad picture for these colleges as they are among the top 2 colleges under AKTU. Considering academics, I would consider HBTI anytime over its competitor IET as the college has one of the most reputed faculty members among all the colleges in Uttar Pradesh. You will get to learn a lot and also they would support you in every project you would be working or would readily join you in one of their own projects if they are working on one. One can expect a placement of 2.5 to 3 Lacs in IET, while it is 4 to 5 Lacs for HBTI. Although the acceptance rate is low for both the colleges HBTI still manages to outperform its competitor in every field possible. If placement is not what you are looking for then HBTI is the place for you.

Undoubtedly, HBTI is better than IET in terms of placements as HBTI is an autonomous institute whereas IET is a self-financed or semi-government institute. So, there is an edge for HBTI over IET as due to more alumni relations. In terms of placements, we are better as we have alumni to attract companies which will visit the campus and select candidates accordingly. In terms of course outline or structure, IET is good. There is a simple course structure, curriculum which is easily understandable and marking schemes which are also very good just in accordance with government rules of CBCS system. CBCS system is good. In this, every student can score well and can get good grades as you do not have to rely on the final semester papers. For all the grading, there is an aggregate of midterms and final semester which is useful as you do not have to keep a burden of scoring well in the last semester exams. I don't personally know the marking scheme of HBTI and also in terms of course, there should be same like as of IET or any other institution in the country according to the government rules and regulations of CBCS system. Also, I think, both are equally good. We can't just compare according to marking scheme of course outline as there is a common curriculum followed by both the institutes. In terms of faculty, I can say HBTI will be a better choice as in IET, we have an average faculty because of some of the teachers. Some are really good teachers but some are average or I can say- poor as the students even know better than them. Sometimes, they get stuck and also confuse students. Here in Indore, we have an autonomous institute whose name is GSITS in which faculty is really very good compared to my institute that is IET, they are highly qualified and are permanent whereas in IET, some of the teachers are on contract basis or I can say, they are guest faculties and does not have that quality education. So, in terms of faculties, one must prefer HBTI. Now, in terms of infrastructure, I am currently in IET and I can say that infrastructure is pretty good as this is not a very old college. It’s only 21 years old and we have good infrastructure but not very good. I can't say that the infrastructure in HBTI is good or bad as I personally never visited this college and have only seen it on internet and brochure. You just can't comment anything.
