The college selection criteria which I used while selecting my college was placement. So I chose VIT, Chennai as I didn't get Vellore.
The courses are almost same in both the colleges, but coming to the course outline, the course taught is mostly same in both the colleges but the marking pattern is completely different. In SRM, you have absolute marking, whereas, in VIT, you have the freedom to choose your faculty.
The faculty members in VIT are of various types. Some of them have a high knowledge. There are some faculty members which have no knowledge. No idea about the faculty of SRM but heard they are okay.
    Coming to infrastructure, h

I can tell you the VIT University perspective. VIT, as we all know, does have a brand name and they make sure that their brand name stays. So my journey till now from a 1st year EEE to 3rd EEE has been pretty good on all basis. Right from the first year we have labs and learn basic things like soldering, making simple circuits, etc. There are workshops which mostly everyone takes up and by the end of 1st-year Arduino is known to almost everyone. Further, we have projects in our curriculum. So in every subject, we need to make a project, So if one does work well you get great knowledge through these projects. Also, the faculty encourage

Placements in VIT are a lot more promising than placements in SRM but you can't expect too much of them. Three students in VIT last sure got a place in a core company for a sum of 2000000 rupees while the rest got placed in marketing or it firms. Same is the scene in SRM only that lesser number of core companies visit SRM during the placement season.
It all narrows down to one thing if you don't want your college life to be too harsh on you and want to have fun you should join SRM but if you want better placement VIT should be the choice you make.
If you want to go and study abroad you can go with any of your choices have both SRM and

  • HI,
Both the colleges are good.VIT is one of the best private institutions in India. VIT has better placements as more companies visit SRM with higher packages, level of teaching, infrastructure is also very good. Both offer quality education and placement enroll only the students who score high merit in their entrance tests.
EEE is good. But not as many core companies come for placement as they do for cse, it, etc., EEE has good faculties, and many chapters like IEEE, SEDS, etc., to participate in. But, if you can opt for some other university like NIT or Even CEG, I would say - avoid VIT. VIT is not really the best place in that case
