Both the colleges are equally good, but I will vote for Thapar University, Patiala because of the standard which the University has maintained since the establishment.
I will try to distinguish between both the colleges with the help of certain parameters:
ADMISSION PROCESS:Thaper University admits it's students on the basis of JEE main marks.Usually cutoff goes higher for Computer engineering (around 180).While SRM University conducts it's own examination called SRMJEE.
CAMPUS: SRM University has a very good and beautiful campus.Student intake is higher in SRM University.
PLACEMENT: Thaper University has average package of around 8 lakhs
    ...more

    Hi,
It is totally up to you to go ahead with, but if I would suggest you to select the colleges based on the course you desire
If you are interested in CSC, then go ahead with SRM or else go ahead with Thapar University. We request you to not to select only on the basis of ranking and placements but rather do it on the basis of interest on the course
    All the Best
    Hope that answers your question
    Thank you.

    Hi,
First you should understand that in which branch you are really interested. Then you should compare the colleges. Yes, Thapar University is a reputed University. Placement scenario of Thapar University is very good. If you want to go for this university you should go for it. Mechatronics is a good branch also. You can also change your branch after first year, if you perform well in the college.
    Best of luck.
