Which college is better for BE in Mechanical Engineering: MSRIT or RVCE?

First, I should introduce you to the reputation the colleges have currently. Both the colleges are among the top 5 colleges in Bangalore under ComedK. While RVCE ranks on the top of the list, MSRIT ranks behind by 2 ranks, that is, it is on the third position on the same list, needless to say, the acceptance rate at RVCE is really low as the seats for the college runs out faster than any other college because of its popularity among students. At the same time, the acceptance rate at MSRIT is certainly more than its competitor. Both the colleges have a great infrastructure, with MSRIT having the second largest campus among all the colleges in India, RVCE clearly has the lead here leaving MSRIT behind by leaps and bounds, with having highest placement package of around 35-40 LPA which is much less i.e. 26 by MSRIT. Also, the average placement package for the college is 8-9 LPA, while for MSRIT, it is 7-8 LPA. With this, I hope you will make the right choice. Good luck.

My brother has completed B.Tech Mechanical from Lovely Professional University, LPU is helping him grow professionally and personally with its career-oriented programs and support. All a student has to do is to maintain a good academic record and personality to ensure his/her placement. Mechanical Engineering students at LPU are provided with enormous opportunities of placement drives. I can SEE my few friends getting placed in reputed companies like Hyundai, Reliance Energy, Godrej, Sandhar Technology, XL Dynamics and many more. Even IT industries recruit Mechanical students here. Both the institutions are well-known for good placements and academic record from past few years. Being located in the southern India constituting the most majority of global and national corporates, they get a plus point of attracting the corporates at very beginning of placement session. Also, both the autonomous institutes work constantly well to bring the best to the society. The placement data follows an average of 9 lakhs for CSE and around 13 lakhs if you are little better than the average crowd. The mechanical and ECE has around 8 LPA and The IT branch has around 10 LPA as there are many IT setups near by the institute campus. Being an autonomous institute, it recruits well qualified and experienced faculty team and the selection process of the students is also nice. Still students prefer these institutes as their fourth priority that is after IITs, NITs, state government and BITS because the institute is still lacks in providing eye catching results. Overall perspective is nice for the institutes and the above data is combinable for both the institutions.

Hi, The answer to your question involves multiple dynamics and it is not possible to answer it in terms of a single factor. So, I'll try to include multiple factors for you to understand it better. Course: Course is pretty much the same in both the colleges with little to almost no difference at all as both are affiliated to VTU. Faculty: Mechanical in RVCE has the best professors in the whole college. They are highly knowledgeable and friendly. Although, I haven't heard the same for MSRIT. Infrastructure: Both the colleges have multiple labs. RVCE-ME has been called Center of Excellence by the Government of India in nanotechnology. Placements: Placement is something that every student is concerned about more than anything else. Well, both the colleges have equally good placements. ME department invites a lot of core companies like Mercedes, Honda, Kirloskar, Hero, Boeing, Toyota, ITC, etc. Exposure: This is one of the major points I would like to add. Mechanical students have formed various clubs like Ashwa Racing, Helios, Vyoma, etc., which build racing cars, hybrid cars, quad-copters, robots, etc., and have represented India internationally. This is one place to be if you want better opportunities and pursue your dream. ME in RVCE is really good, probably the best in Bangalore. I would recommend you to opt for ME in RVCE and you won't regret it. Hope it helps.
