Which college is better for PGDM: IBA, Bangalore or ISB&M, Kolkata?

Both the colleges are good, but you can certainly consider Indus business academy, Bangalore. What sets Indus Business Academy, Bangalore apart is the fact that here the faculty members do not just focus on teaching management theories, but to groom the aspirants for the corporate world. The PGDM programme in IBA ensures giving maximum exposure to the students about corporate life and how it functions. You would learn to handle pressure, perform under stress and come out molded as how it's required by today's dynamic business world. Moreover the placement record of IBA is really good. Renowned companies like Deloitte, Bata, HDFC, ICICI, Reckett Benckiser, Grand Thorton etc. Come for placements. So, if you are looking for opportunities to grow and emerge as a professional, IBA shall be a good option to consider.

Evidently, both colleges are good. However in my opinion, IBA Bangalore would be a better option in terms of classroom experience, industry interaction and exposure to corporate life. Life at IBA is different from any other B- school and provides an extra edge to students for corporate work-life and practical knowledge. The ROI for IBA is also a good feature in terms of selection of B school.

I am a current student at ISB&M Kolkata and I can tell you that the new AICTE approved riverside campus is head and shoulders above most of the institutes I have seen in this city. As for placements, the website has a complete list of recruiters along with who was placed where with how much salary. Anyone who is interested. Already the first batch of the AICTE course have been placed in summer internships - all of them had a choice between more than 2-3 offers. As for the faculty. They are experts in their fields, with stellar qualifications and most of them with extensive industry backgrounds. ISB&M, Kolkata would be my choice. An interactive method of learning which is largely experiential makes studying for the PGDM degree much more meaningful. There is also a very high level of interaction with industry which brings with it a deep knowledge of corporate culture and knowledge of its requirements. Join the dots and you have a learning experience which makes you better and more effective as a future manager. So, ISB&M, Kolkata it is.
