Well, that is a tough question. Comparing the fees, placements and faculty the beam bends slightly towards TIET. Given that they have started admissions both through JEE marks and class 12th marks, I would pick TIET.

I believe that VIT Vellore is better than Thapar University, but VIT's placements are good they have tie ups mass recruiters, they have very well infrastructure and good student-faculty ratio.

Both colleges are very renowned and have good track records. In the recently published MHRD ranking, VIT was ranked 13 and Thapar University was ranked 27 in the list of India's top engineering colleges.
