Which college should be preferred in Gujarat for engineering if I have a good merit rank - government or private?

I'll prefer for the government college as the placements of mostly all the colleges is good as compared to private colleges plus there is case of donation so you will always get an environment of students who mainly comes for the study not for the simple taking a degree.
