No doubt Thapar is one of the best and reputed private engineering colleges of northern India. The quality of crowd and environment is very good there. CSE is most sought after branch there. You will learn a lot. Although, VIT is also a very good University.

When it comes to placements, hands on experience, project based learning and experienced faculty members! I suggest you to go with VIT Vellore.

    Hi,
If you're getting confused between VIT or Thapar, I would suggest you go to the Thapar Institute. TIET is one of the top colleges in India if you are comparing among all these. For computer science, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is one of the bests in India. It has been ranked 23rd under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) by the Government of India rankings. They provide the best placements in big brands like Deloitte, Larsen & Toubro, IBM and many more. About 95% of the students were placed with pretty high packages. The highest salary package offered was about 35 LPA.

  • I'll say you should prefer Thapar when you score good marks in JEE Mains and have got a bit less % in boards, As Thapar University only admits through JEE (Mains) marks. Best of Luck. Between CSE at VIT Vellore at 5 Lacs p. a. and SRM at 2.5 Lacs p. a. , which should I go for.

Thapar is better than VIT in terms of campus, highly experienced faculty, infrastructure, placement facilities and all the other facilities provided to the students. In Thapar, the number of seats is quite less than VIT, so the chances of students getting placements are high. The placement opportunity is impeccable. TIET comes under India's top 10 private engineering institutes. Also, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology has been ranked 23rd under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) by the Government of India rankings, making it one of the best Engineering Institutes in India. Last year almost 96% of students got

I think you should apply for CSE at Thapar University. TU and VIT are both old private universities, but TU has a greater brand value and is definitely is best known for their CSE placements.
Also, I have known this fact, that VIT, Vellore does a lot of advertising and calls for admission through management quotas and all, but Thapar University has always focused their strict admission rules and I think this is what brings TU above any private university. Also, CSE students at Thapar University get to enjoy more perks as there are many companies that visit TU during placement season, and there are hardly any students who don't get place
