LPU lays thrust on carrying out research in agricultural and allied fields. The university has well-equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms, and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments.
Emphasis on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgment by reading and discussing complex, real-life scenarios.
B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture students done research on Project On Floating Island-The project involves the introduction of floating islands for water management and improving sanitation and regulation of water quality & restoration of the water table with the help of biological agents.
Students hitherto organic yields of Spinach, Cauliflowers, Cabbage, Turnip, Radish, Carrots have been well accepted by local consumers at University, who have liked these for quality, taste, appearance and appeal. They have also produced organic wheat.
Students have started working on the production of Baby-Corn, Parsley (Kind of Coriander), Lettuce (Green Leaves), Dill (A Fragrance), Lemon Grass and other. They have also worked for growing and marketing of all types of summer vegetables. In addition, they are learning Green House production, Tissue culture, Collection of Plasma, usage of natural resources & compost, floriculture, and above all entrepreneurship value for a valuable growth on even a small piece of land.
Students Innovate a drone which can be guided by remote control can be used on agriculture land to analyze the soil nutrient status and water stress is an innovation by LPU students to simplify the farming experience.
