Which colleges are better: private or government colleges? Which course should I pursue after engineering to get a job in railways?

Both types of colleges have their pros and cons. It is important to understand what you expect from a college I.e. good education, courses available, good infrastructure and faculty available, reputation, rating, placements, extra curricular activities, fee structure, management, admission process and last but not the least, your marks in qualifying the exam are also to be considered while choosing an institution. All this information is available on internet. You will have to tabulate this information for the institutes you want to seek admission in irrespective of the type of institution and take a considered decision in selecting a college. For Govt/ railways jobs, after completing your degree, you are eligible to apply through UPSC/ Indian railway board competitive exams as per their advertisement generally published in employment news/ websites.
