Which companies come at ICAI Placement and what is their criteria for selection?
-
Many companies shortlist students on the basis of no. of attempts like Coal India, ITC, etc. Otherwise, there is no as such criteria because I have seen many students in the campus who have passed in the 5th attempt but shortlisted by the company for interview whereas a student passed in the second attempt was not even shortlisted by any company. Even ICAI president can't give you the criteria on the basis of which companies are shortlisting students. So it depends on your luck as well.

Almost all the big shots like to recruit for their companies through campus selection.
Most of the Public sector undertakings recruit CA/CMA as executive trainees (Finance) through their own recruitment notifications. Very few PSUs participate in campus placements for CA freshers. Some PSUs which participated in August 2016 were IOCL, BPCL, RailTel.
Being PSUs, they follow reservation rules for recruitment as per Government of India rules. The shortlisting criteria (For IOCL- August 2016) for general category students was, minimum 60% of final marks. For reserved categories, it was a bit lower, around a minimum of 55% of final marks.
