Placements at Vellore/Chennai/Bhopal/Amravati are all centralized. So, all the students from all campuses have to come to Vellore for placements. It all depends on your luck. Mostly, companies come at VIT with handsome packages of: 5 to 15 LPA for mechanical 10 to 20 LPA for electrical and communication 10 to 30 LPA for IT and CSE And God bless civil branch (very less compared to others)! But competition for getting a job is fierce. There are almost 1000 students aspiring students for a company that will take 2 or 3 students. So, everything is a matter of probability here. Even if you come in the top 10 students in your batch and a company wants to take 3 students, it all comes to luck. CSE students need not worry, they will definitely be placed in their core company. EEE, ECE, MECH, Civil: Buck up and start studying for placements because you are going to have a tough time during placements. Those who didn't get the core company, they will definitely get into one of the IT giants. So if you are only coming for placements, don't worry, you will be placed.
