    Hi,
In terms of potential job market, B.Sc in biotechnology is better than B.Sc in geology. The higher qualified in biotechnology will have wider scope in terms of industry requirement as well as in R&D field.

Most jobs in Biotechnology are research-based and most bio technologists are employed in research and development departments of institutions and industries involved in biotechnological work. India is becoming hub for Biotechnology research with lots of outsourcing work being done in India. I am of the opinion that Biotechnology graduates have more scope and opportunities in comparison to Geology graduates. However, for long term career, you will have to plan for higher studies such as M.Sc and PhD.
