PGDM is an Institute autonomous program which is approved by AICTE
MBA is a program which is affiliated to a university.
Colleges which offer AICTE approved courses will also offer PGDM not MBA, for example XYZ College is affiliated to ABC University they offer MBA course affiliated to that universi

Both MBA and PGDM are similar degrees. Placement does not depend on the degree but on college's rank, reputation, earlier placement records, alumni network, etc. IIMs offer PGDM but are best for career growth particularly legacy IIMs. FMS, Delhi University awards MBA and its placement is on par with
