Hi Sam,
The CFA course has main focus on financial markets, financial statement analysis, Equity analysis and valuation, portfolio management and mutual funds. The course enables one to branch out to financial services and banking sectors. CFA is more perceived as a course aimed towards corporate finance and financial investments. The candidates who successfully pass the grueling course work of CFA, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India, suited for portfolio management of any financial company, corporate finance and international financial management and the related exposure management. A qualified CFA candidate can work become either a financial analyst or an independent investment consultant. However, we feel that CFA will be most profitable in combination with some other degree. Maybe, a CFA along with an MBA will have more opportunities in this industry. A two-year CFA/MBA integrated program is being offered by ICFAI institutes in various cities. Scope and career prospects are in all industries in Corporate Finance or you can apply to Banks, Investment Banks, Equity Research and Advisory companies, Mutual Funds, Stock broking firms etc.A CFP has specialization in areas of insurance, investment, taxation, estate planning and retirement planning. A CFP doesn't see an individual's financial needs such as insurance or investment in isolation but considers all aspects in totality. For CFPCM certification examination, the candidate is required to have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Leading companies to work for include HLL, Infosys, Cipla, Nestle, Ranbaxy, (for corporate finance) HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Citibank, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, JM Morgan Stanley, Merill Lynch, Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Lehman Brothers, Ernst & Young, AF Ferguson, Pricewater House Coopers.
