Both courses are demanding. MBA degree is affiliated with any of the university and PGDM degree is affiliated to AICTE and also, it will be an autonomous programme. If you want to do higher studies like Ph.D, then go for MBA. You can also pursue Ph.D after doing PGPM course from an IIM or XLRI.
    Best of luck.

PGDM is better as per the current scenario, but you should check if it is AIU certified or not because PGDM program without AIU certification is not valid for higher studies in India and abroad.

MBA is professional PG in management and its a university certification. But PGDM is Post Graduate Diploma in Management by AICTE. AIMA(All India Management Association) also offer PGDM.
Both courses are equal for Employment and higher education.

Yes, IIM Ahmedabad is certainly costly. IIM Ahmedabad total fees ranges between INR 64,000 and INR 33 lakh. The fees vary depending on the programme and specialisation selected by the students. The fee for certain programmes certainly falls in the higher end of the spectrum. Students need to pay INR 25 lakh as IIM Ahmedabad MBA fee. However, considering the fact that IIMA is one of the top-rate IIMs and limitless oppurtunities students can experience at the institute, it might be considered a worthwile investment. Further, the institute also offers financial aid to its students.
