In my view both are equivalent. PGDM is a postgraduate diploma which is given by stand alone / Autonomous Institutes which come under the jurisdiction of AICTE. MBA is a degree program provided only by Unversities and come under the jurisdiction of UGC.

Hello Irfan! PGDM being a more practical oriented course is far better than MBA. PGDM is run by autonomous institutes, which focus on the employability of the candidates. the placement is also far better in PGDM. the best Institutes like IIM/XLRI/MDi etc have PGDM courses running. Hope this Helps.
