Which course is better among PGDM and MBA?

You should opt for the PGDM program. An MBA degree is offered by an University whereas PGDM is offered by institutes recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The PGDM program is widely accepted by the industry, because the curriculum is continuously updated, to meet the challenges of the corporate world. If you take the top 100 B Schools in India, most of them offer the PGDM program

They are virtually same. It is the institute who term their courses but syllabus may be akin and same. University preferto allot MBA degree where as prestigious institutes provide PGDM.

Both the course are having there own value and both the course are career oriented. MBA is very good career oriented and professional course and having very future prospective. After completion of MBA, a wide range of jobs and career prospective are available in the industrial sector. one can work as marketing manager in cerin reputed compnies. One can also work as the financial manager, whose responsibility is to control the investment of the capital of the company. Another important post on which one can work after completion of MBA degree is the Human Resource manager. He or she manages the man power of the company, and hence holds one of the most important positions in the company. scope of MBA in India is huge, wide and very bright. There are certain good colleges/institutes which provide better education and placements:- 1. Lovely professional University 2. Birla Institute of management 3. IIM, Delhi

Dear Anand, Please remember MBA degree is offered by universities, whereas PGDM is offered by AICTE approved institutes. Both these course have almost the same course curriculum, Both are good but in PGDM there is very advance syllabus that’s why IIM also give PGDM degree . However please remember while taking admission, your emphasis should be more on taking admission in good universities or institutes. You may consider some of the below mentioned points while selecting a institute or university to pursue MBA or PGDM program: - Accreditation of the institute. - Institute's infrastructure. - Teaching faculty. - Specialization offered. - Past placements records. - Tuition fees. - City preference. - Industry interface. In order to pursue full time MBA or PGDM program you need to be graduate in any field with atleast 50% marks in graduation, plus you need to take various management entrance test like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc. Please note that, the final selection in MBA or PGDM program is made on the basis of: 1. Education background of the students. 2. Score in various management entrance test. 3. Performance in group discussions and personal interview. 4. Work experience if any.

Well anand i'm not a career counsellor but according to my experience I think MBA is much better than PGDM because MBA provides a wide scope in learning in managment and business activities with practical knowledge by providing various facilities like seminars , training and in placements also companies prefer a MBA student because it signifies that student's personality is a developed one. Regarding PGDM i'm not sure i'm the right person to tell u about it because i'm a MBA student i do not hold much experience and knowledge in PGDM.
