Hi, it depends about your aptitude. B.Tech is an undergraduate academic degree conferred after completion of a three-year, a four-year, or even a five-year (such as in Nigeria) programme of studies at an accredited university or accredited university-level institution. Merchant navy officers are employed by commercial shipping companies to work on all kinds of seagoing vessels, such as cruise liners, cargo ships, tankers and hovercraft. These guys typically adopt a deck officer or engineering officer role in a team leading capacity.

There is nothing better if you cannot fit in the job, I think both these courses have their own challenge. You have to decide to take the plunge, and decide how you want to see yourself after 10 years.

Both the courses are equally good, opt for the course that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyze the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of Aptitude, personality and career interest to clear confusion
