Choice between Science and Engineering depends on your interest. If you have Scienctific temperament and you want to explore world around you, you can pursue BSc MSc PhD route for career in pure Sciences . Engineering career is good. India produces 5+ Lakh engineer every year. Finding job is becoming difficult day by day. If you get admission in Tier I engineering Institute then it's a good option. Do not do engineering from institutes which does not have brand name, good faculty, facilities and placement record.

It depends on your interest and passion. Any of the two streams can make you successful if you possess any specific career goal. B.Sc is a degree course after which you can pursue M.Sc followed by Ph.D. Engineering is a professional degree course which will help you to get a job a bit quickly as compared to B.Sc. You can also pursue higher studies after B.Tech. So try to frame your own career goal and act accordingly. There is nothing called best or worst. All that you need is your passion and commitment. All the best. Thank you.
