India is slowly becoming biotechnology outsourcing hub. A lot of multinational companies are outsourcing Research and Development work in biotechnology to Indian firms. Most of the jobs in biotechnology are research-based and most bio technologists are employed in research and development departments of institutions and industries involved in biotechnological work. Most of biotechnology science graduates are employed in R&D work. Biotechnologists with engineering background work extensively in the production departments of these industries.

B.Pharma is a professional course and it has more opportunities than biotechnology. In fact, many people join pharma companies after biotechnology.
